Description | 🔵 DXF was first introduced for AutoCAD in 1982. This format is commonly used for exchanging graphic data between CAD programs. DXF files can contain vector graphics in either binary or ASCII format. Another format, DWG, serves a similar purpose but is not open source. In contrast, DXF is free software, making it a preferable option over DWG. |
Technical details | 🔵 The DXF files are organized in a way that makes it easy to open the file using a regular text editor, which is very advantageous. DXF files are structured in a standard format with several components. One of these components is the header, which contains detailed information about the file, classes, boxes, entities, and a thumbnail image. The data associated with the DXF file is referred to as tagged data, which determines how the data will be interpreted. |

Description | 🔵 EPS is a convenient file format for transferring text and image files. Publishers often use EPS files because they are compatible with all operating systems. Graphics can be included in PostScript files and low-resolution image previews can be sent and received within documents. |
Technical details | 🔵 You can use this file to layout the page. It’s possible with rendering the file’s PostScript or even without doing the rendering. A comment of BoundingBox DSC is present in the EPS file. The comment provides information related to the containing image within the file. The comments of BounidngBox define the file size and resolution. WMF or TIFF files may be the file previews; in that case, they begin with the 4 bytes having C5 D0 D3 C6 as the characters. In this way, the character group looks like “Adobe”. Other files are starting with [%!PS-Adobe-a.b EPSF-c.d]. Here, the lowercase letters are usually single-digit numbers. |
