Therefore, the PCD format employs an image compression system to encode images in 24-bit slices. A PCD file can accommodate images of varying resolutions, with the highest resolution being 6144×4096 pixels. |
| Technical details | 🔵 Although the PCD format technically supports image resolutions as high as 6144×4096 pixels, images are typically saved onto storage media at a resolution of 3072×2048 pixels. It is worth noting that both of these resolutions maintain a color depth of 24-bit.
