Description | The .cbr file is a compressed file used to store a collection of comic book images. In addition, the comic book images can be rearranged in order and the display mode can be modified to allow for viewing two images side by side, creating a double-page spread. |
Technical details | Images enclosed in CBR archives are either lossy JPEG files or lossless PNG files archived with the RAR method. Alternatively, GIF, TIFF, and BMP files can be used, though they are less common. With RAR compression and archiving, CBR files can be accessed by comic book review applications without the need for standard decompression. Additional information about the CBR file can be found using embedded XML files. |
