DescriptionDST files are specifically designed for Tajima embroidery machines. These machines are equipped with automated controls, but DST files serve as instructions for designers. These files contain coordinates and codes that dictate various aspects of the needlework process, such as stitching, skipping, and seam placement. Additionally, DST files include color palettes and other related data in various vector formats.
Technical detailsEach file consists of two sections: a header and a body. DST headers typically contain 512 bytes. The headers utilize 125 bytes of data, which is standard. DST files can be skipped over as they usually do not contain much information. The file may contain various details, such as thread colors or the file author, which can be complex. DST commands are 3 bytes long, while most other embroidery layouts are 2 bytes long.
